Le Chardonneret élégant

The Elegent Goldfinch is a member of the finches like the bullfinch, the greenfinch or the pinyon. It has long been coveted as a cage bird because of its beautiful song and colorful plumage. Its food is mainly granivorous, so it needs a lot of water to drink and bathe especially during the summer heat. Its species is protected in France, but it is threatened in many other Mediterranean countries.
